Environment

Nestled on the slopes of the majestic Nardousberg, an hour’s drive outside Graaff-Reinet, Wolvekloof Karoo offers a tranquil escape on the 3 200-ha game farm. Our self-catering cottages provide breathtaking views of the Sneeuberg Mountains, while the vast landscape offers the opportunity to explore with hiking, mountain biking and trail running through the Great Karoo.

Wolvekloof Karoo is home to many antelope such as Eland, Kudu, Oryx, Red Hartebeest, Black Wildebeest, Blesbuck, Springbok and many more. You can also find a wide range of birds and other animals, including the Cape Mountain Zebra, roaming across the farm.

Bloubos Cottage

Charming, comfortable and perfect for a family or small group relaxing together in the heart of the Karoo. With two inviting bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a private boma with a fire pit and braai, it’s an ideal space to unwind. Absolutely beautiful location. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy more of the tranquility this place has to offer. The accommodation is stunning and has all you need for an off grid retreat.

Pure heaven. Feel so privileged to have visited Wolwekloof. Landscape beautiful. Opportunities to walk and freely explore kloofs, peaks and koppies teaming with game. Walking with herds of buck, mountains and veld for miles around, with a river to take a dip was extremely good for the soul. It’s a piece of heaven. Almarie went out of her way to make us comfortable. Highly recommend for couples or bigger groups.

I had a fantastic stay at Wolvekloof Karoo. Dan and Almarie were incredible hosts – welcoming, attentive, and genuinely passionate about their farm and their guests’ experience.

The setting is breathtaking, tucked away in the Karoo mountains with beautiful scenery and plenty of game roaming the farm. It’s peaceful, authentic, and the perfect escape if you love nature and the outdoors.

Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be back!

One of our most memorable experiences! The cottage is beautifully decorated, fully equipped with all that you could possibly need. The views spectacular! A special word of thanks to our hosts, Almarie and Dan for their warm welcome and hospitality. We especially enjoyed venturing onto the jeep track/gravel routes and experiencing the wild life and nature at its best! Highly recommend to all who love and appreciate nature..

We had a superb two night stay at Wolvekloof. The Karoo at it’s best! The scones on arrival was a super treat. Dan and Almarie were wonderful hosts, and Peperboom Cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. As an artist and painter of the Karoo I found material that can last me a long, long time. We will be back.

We spent 4 beautiful days at Wolwekloof.
Bloubos Cottage was very well equipped and really comfortable. The mountain scenery is spectacular with an abundance of wildlife. We can definitely recommend Wolwekloof as a destination for those wanting an outdoor adventure or just some peace and quiet.

Our three night stay at Wolvekloof was superb. Fresh roosterkoek on arrival, a very tastefully decorated cottage equipped with everything needed and the beautiful surroundings spoiled us extremely. We drove up from Johannesburg and stayed over to break up the journey, as we usually do. We often stop in Graaff-Reinet, but this was a lovely detour – not far from town, and well worth it. The accommodation was very comfortable, and the hospitality from Almarie and Dan was truly something special. We felt genuinely looked after, and they went out of their way to accommodate us and our two dogs. We’ve definitely found our new stopover spot going forward.
